Toaster Josh is one of the many traveling entities that can be seen in The Nightmare. Toaster Josh acts similar to a mini quest-giver, tasking players to find certain collectibles (Running Man and/or Caught Man) in exchange for rewards.

If the players interacted with Toaster Josh for the very first time, they will read through some dialogues pertaining to the collectible, the Running Man. In exchange, the players will receive an Ancient Key that can be used to unlock golden locks.

First (Pre-Task)

• "Oh, hello there. I am Toaster Josh, nice to meet you."
• "Yes, I am part toaster- and no, I will not cook your food for you."
• "You know, you're pretty tame looking compared to most of the folks I've encountered in here."
• "Heh, this one time I saw this weird little guy...Running frantically as if I was trying to catch him-"
• "He must be hiding something...That little running man..."
• "Say, if you find one, I'd love to take a look at it. I think I could have a lot in common with that running man."
• "Any luck finding that running man?"
• "I'd really like to speak with him."

First (Completion of the First Task)

• "Oh? Can I take a look?"
• "Oh man! That's him!"
• "You really found him!"
• "Why don't you hand him here? I've got something for you too-"

Second (Pre-Task)

• "Mmm tasty- Oh! Hello again!"
• "I can't thank you enough for bringing that running man to me. We've really hit it off."
• "There was actually another one I saw, similar to the one from before..."
• "He looked like I had just caught him committing a crime! He also ran from me, even faster than the other one."
• "If you see him, that caught man, maybe bring him my way."
• "If you see him, bring him by, I'd love him to have a word with him."
• "He was bright red and yellow, quite spectacular really."

Second (Completion of the Second Task)

• "Oh? That's him! The caught man!"
• "Give him here!-Quickly!"
• "Oh man, I owe you big time for this one!"

Third (No Task)

• "Great day to be a toaster~"
• "Wouldn't you say?~"

Toaster Josh can be found in various locations and therefore, the player must search throughout the lands of The Nightmare in order to find Toaster Josh's position in the Nightmare. Here is the list of known locations:
