Summary[]
The Honoring Blade is one of the many weapons that can be acquired in The Nightmare. It can be purchased from the Frog in the Waiting Room at a price of 10,000,000 gold.
Appearance/Usages[]
In appearance, the Honoring Blade is a fabulous greatsword wrought from gold, wire, and magma. The blade carries immense heat as flame particles swirl out of the blade.
As the Honoring Blade is a greatsword, swinging it will cause the user to slow down, with each swing consuming 4 stamina. Though it is only able to perform one attack per second, each swing is performed in a wide arc, making it capable of hitting multiple enemies in an area.
Special Ability[]
The special ability of the Honoring Blade is titled Magma Scorch, which, upon activation, causes the user to swing the greatsword around themselves, hitting any enemy in its path, which then will produce magma beneath the user. After 10 seconds, the magma will recede into the ground.
Activating Magma Scorch consumes 4 stamina points. The beginning spin deals 550 damage, and receives 100% of the user's melee bonus. The patch of magma will deal 300 damage along with 20% of the user's magic bonus per second to enemies within it. For a total of 10 seconds, the magma itself will deal 3000 damage. The special ability's cooldown lasts for 28 seconds before it can be used again.
Trivia[]
- The original image file's name calls it the Sword of Justice.
- It is one of the first items to receive a black-purplish hue as its outline upon the arrival of the Ratboy's Nightmare Update, the other item being the Circus Watch. As of the Spring update, the list now additionally includes the Pipe Machine, Cosmic Ghost Mask, Cosmic Charm, and Nightingale Mask.
- Its special ability is nearly identical to the ones that the Democan uses.
- As of the v1.31 Balance Update, the base damage of the sword is now 550 (previously 440).
- The Honoring Blade's special ability, as well as the Red King Greatsword's, have the longest cooldown of any special abilities currently in the game.
- Before the patch, the Honoring Blade became one of the strongest weapons in the game due to an abusable glitch where you could stack its damage by canceling its special. When stacked enough, players were able to deal enough damage to kill even the strongest bosses in one hit.
