Summary

The Celestial Powers Spellbook is one of the many weapons that can be acquired in the Frontier. It can be purchased from the Otherworldly Weaponsmith in The Town of Right and Wrong at a price of 5,000,000 gold.

Appearances/Usages

In appearance, the Celestial Powers Spellbook is a brown leather tome containing the knowledge and power of the divine energies that are used to cast celestial spells. The artwork found at the center of the tome depicts a tall peak shrouded in the night skies. Resonating energies can be seen around and in the peak. When held, the book leaves a yellow glow on the user. Its projectiles are yellow and purple, which is assumed to signify the sun's rays and the moon's light.

Like most magic spellbooks, it is a single projectile attack-based spellbook. A trait that makes this spellbook unique from other spellbooks is that it has a charging mechanic. This enables users to fuse the projectile with more energy, and as a result, more damage is inflicted on the enemies. Depending on how long the user charges the projectile, the casting time can be either quicker or slower than the other spellbooks.

Celestial Powers Spellbook's projectile consumes 2.4 stamina for both charged and uncharged shots. The projectile deals 80 damage and receives 110% of the user's magic bonus. When uncharged, the projectile will deal 80% of the total damage. When fully charged, the multiplier increases up to 300%. While casting, the player's walkspeed is decreased by 35%. In perfect conditions, Celestial Powers can fire 10 uncharged shots in 8 seconds, firing 75 shots per minute with enough endurance. Fully charging the spell takes 2.5 seconds, allowing the player to fire 24 charged shots a minute.

To calculate the damage of a single projectile, use the following equation:

Where Charge is a value ranging from 0.8 to 3, depending on the time spent charging the projectile.

Special Ability

The special ability of the Celestial Powers Spellbook is titled Fantastic Beamstorm, which, upon activation, creates a glow of yellow light on the user. The user begins dancing in a tribal motion, similar to the special ability, Threefold Advance, of the Great Scimitar. As the user preforms the dance, 8 beams of colorful light are launched from the user.

Fantastic Beamstorm consumes 4 stamina points. Each of the 8 beams can deal anywhere from 85-95 damage and receives 60% of the user's magic bonus. This slows down the user. However, similar to the Darktoad Spellbook's special, it can be aimed horizontally, but cannot be aimed vertically. The cooldown of the special ability lasts for 24 seconds before it can be used again.

Trivia

  • Oddly enough, the Celestial Powers Spellbook can not be obtained via other means, specifically as a reward or a gift from any viable sources as of the 1.10 (Fishing) Update.
  • Its left-click magic bonus was originally 0.5x (50%) before it was later changed on July 26, 2017, to 0.9x (90%).
  • During the Balance Update [v1.31], the Celestial Powers Spellbook's basic attack bonus was increased from 90% to 110%, and its special attack bonus was increased from 40% to 60%.
  • Celestial Powers Spellbook is capable of dealing one of the highest damage with just one attack in the game. With using the maximum possible magic bonus of 634 (while also under the effect of Fish of Rage), the player can achieve around 2526 damage with one fully charged shot. This setup is however very risky, thus is not recommended.
  • A fully charged shot from the Celestial Powers Spellbook, by simplifying its formula, will always essentially take a 330% magic bonus multiplier (while ignoring its base damage of 240), being the highest there is amongst all magic weapons.
    • However, the highest "true" magic bonus multiplier (that does not involve other mechanics such as charging) belongs to Staff of Dreams' special ability, which possesses a 310% multiplier.
