Summary[]
The Blade of the Throne is one of the many weapons that can be acquired in the Frontier. The Blade of the Throne can be purchased from Vhitmire at a price of 6,600,000 gold. It can also be purchased from Linkman the Junkman at a cheaper price of 6,200,000 gold. Other viable methods of acquiring the Blade of the Throne include the following:
- A possible reward from the Grand Treasure Chest.
- A possible reward from the Firefly Quest.
- A possible gift from the Otherworld Present.
- A possible reward from the Otherworld Tower.
Appearance/Usages[]
In appearance, the Blade of the Throne appears to be a royal blade infused with deep magical energy. It is a sword crafted from a midnight-blue material. It emits a cyan glow. The hilt and grip resemble a traditional Japanese Torii gate. A purple haze protrudes from the hilt and up the blade. The Blade of the Throne is the counterpart of The Jade Twin and seems to share a similar goal.
While the Blade of the Throne is in its sword form, each swing consumes 2.4 stamina points, dealing 500 damage and receiving 100% magic bonus. It is capable of performing a quick slash per second, similar to those of scimitars and The Jade Twin, dealing quick damage, but depletes stamina quickly.
Special Ability[]
The special ability of Blade of the Throne is titled Caster Form, which, upon activation, extends a deep blue handle below the grip of the weapon, allowing the user to have both hands on the weapon, which leaves behind purple particles, but dissipates the purple haze from the blade. In this form, the user can generate a narrow, bright purple, vertical, and slow moving projectile that leaves a trail of glitter with every attack.
Switching to and from Caster Form requires no initial stamina points and consumes no stamina points. The projectile from Caster Form consumes 3.4 stamina points. This projectile can phase through objects, dealing 350 damage to any enemy it passes through, and receiving 100% of the user's magic bonus. After the projectile has traveled a great distance, it disappears.
Trivia[]
- The Blade of the Throne shares many similar qualities to that of the Moonlight Greatsword, from the Dark Souls Series, perhaps being a nod to FromSoftware's iconic greatsword.
- Before the 1.10 (Fishing) Update, the sword and caster form both dealt the same amount of damage, making the stats incorrect and misleading.
- The main differences between the Blade of the Throne and The Jade Twin are:
- Their color.
- The Jade Twin receives 50% of both the user's magic and ranged bonuses, while the Blade of the Throne receives 100% of the user's magic bonus.
- The Jade Twin deals 25 more damage in both the sword form and Caster Form.
- During the Balance Update [v1.31], the Blade of the Throne's Sword Form base damage was increased from 400 to 500 points, and its Caster Form base damage was increased from 280 to 350 points.
