The Ratboy Handgun is one of the many weapons that can be found in the Nightmare. It can be purchased at a price of 25,000,000 gold from Frog Goods or obtained by defeating the Nightmare Boss.
Though semi-automatic and even fully-automatic weapons are well known in this world, the Rattinger pistol remains a relic of ancient history, signifying the turning point of technology and industrialization among the Ratboy race. It was invented by Samuel T. Rattinger during an unknown time and quickly became a popular weapon, utilized by the wealthy for sport and self-defense.
Tragically, the advancement of technology was halted when Samuel was found dead after an opera show, murdered by the very weapon he had designed. With his uncanny knowledge of firearms and advanced mechanics gone forever, Ratboy technology slowly began to cease until the race as a whole began relying on magic instead of firearms. Despite myths claiming the Rattinger pistols were destroyed and discarded from history, however, they have recently began reemerging in one particular Ratboy's nightmares with interesting new properties...
In appearance, the Ratboy Handgun resembles a modern semi-automatic handgun with all the mechanical parts required to function, though there is no need to change the magazine after shooting.
The Ratboy Handgun, like all other firearms, uses Bullets as its primary ammunition. It is capable of firing fairly quickly, allowing it to deal damage at a respectable rate. Thanks to the high damage it boasts, the handgun is the most efficient way to use bullets when dealing with single targets.
The special ability of the Ratboy Handgun is titled 'Divine Shot', which, upon activation, charges a bullet with divine energy before firing a fast-travelling projectile that explodes on impact, dealing increased damage in an area.
