Summary
- Alias: Monstrosity
The Monstrosity is a hostile creature that can be found in various locations of the Frontier, commonly seen in places such as Petrified Grassland, The Pits, and Blackrock Mountain. It is described as a purple-eyed monstrosity with two stubbed feet that is sometimes compared to a Beholder, a reoccurring enemy seen in RPG-based games.
It also makes its appearance on the 13th floor of the Otherworld Tower, Monstrosity Mania, serving as main obstacles as the players progress through the dungeon. After the introduction of the Ratboy's Nightmare Update, the Monstrosity can be found in many zones of The Nightmare, such as The Grand Hall and The Old Mansion.
Attacks
There are three attacks that the Monstrosity can perform:
- Body Slam - Lunges towards the player's current position in an attempt to body slam them.
- Rapid Slams - Lunges towards the player's current position in an attempt to body slam them before attempting to rapidly slam its body repeatedly as it moves towards the player's current position.
- Void Breath - Breathes out void energies out of its mouth in an attempt to inflict damage onto the players.
Trivia
- It has an 'otherworldly' variant that can appear in the Otherworld Tower dungeon, dubbed as the Two-Eyed Monstrosity.
- It is possible to acquire a Frontier Stone and/or Nightmare Clock from the mob, although it is quite rare to acquire such items.
- It is possible to acquire a black suit attire and a black hood from the Monstrosity as one of its possible drops.
- It is possibly based on a Beholder, a reoccurring enemy that appears in other RPG-based games.
- It is encounterable in the Otherworld Tower dungeon, specifically on the floor known as Monstrosity Mania.
