Luhr is a NPC located at Topple Lake, or North East of Topple Town. Luhr always sells a Basic Fishing Rod and an Advanced Fishing Rod (more on Fishing), while the third item can be a multitude of different fish-related hats which give no bonuses. Luhr can also teach you how to fish based off his dialogue. There is no lore hinting towards Luhr, the game developers probably created Luhr to let beginners know how to fish and buy their first fishing rod. His name, Luhr, is also a play of the word lure.
Dialogue
After pressing [E] to talk to Luhr, he says, "Looking for a new rod?"
Then three options appear:
- I want to shop. (Opens fishing store)
- How do I get started fishing? (Which he responds to, "First you'll need a fishing pole. Once you have that, find it in your inventory and equip it. When you're holding the rod, you can cast it out at any water you find." "Watch the bobber, and when you see a splash, click your mouse to reel the fish in. If you're quick enough, you'll have yourself a fish! There a lot of fishing spots out there, and a ton of different fish!")
- Leave (Exits speech prompt)
