The Journeyman, an odd-looking entity found in The Nightmare, more specifically at the very end of the End of the Road, is claimed to be the antagonist or the 'bad guy' of The Nightmare, according to the Old Tin Toy.

The role of the Journeyman appears to be making stories and shaping tales/journeys into lifelong legends. Players are able to get the Dark Marble after listening to all three songs from the Journeyman's requests. The Journeyman appears to be a 'good' NPC, upon encountering the NPC at the End of the Road. The true antagonist is up to the players' decisions.
