- Alias: Data Bug, Data Ant, Datamite
The Data Mite is a hostile insect that shares its size and behavior with the Little Ant, though the similarities between the two mobs quickly end. It has an enlarged body and headpiece, supposedly for storing data in, and green spirals are constantly emitted from its torso. It is commonly found anywhere in The Road and the End of the Road.
There are two known attacks that the Data Mite can perform:
- Glitch - The Data Mite produces a visible and audible electricity effect shortly before 'glitching' to the player's location and immediately performing a lunge afterward.
- Lunge - Lunges at the player in an attempt to bite them. Players hit by this attack have their Armor reduced by 15 for 5 seconds, and produce the same green spiral effect as the mite until it returns to normal. This effect can stack.
The drop rates of every single collectible that can be acquired from the Data Mite. Any claims of "missing items" that the Data Mite could drop will be cast aside as false information.
Although the Data Mite is easy to outpace and its attacks can be sidestepped, it can be a deadly threat when it is not alone, as the amount of defense reduced by the attack can cause other mobs to deal lethal amounts of damage. Players are advised to tread cautiously and have a getaway plan in case things get tricky.
- Sometimes, when the Data Mite attempts to glitch to the player while just at the edge of teleport range, it will not teleport but instead cause the electricity sound effect to loop until it teleports again or is killed.
