Ok so...melee! My favorite class! The setup I always use and prefer is actually an under used set, Guild Knight. I use the torso and legs, and the Pommel's Helm. This doesn't add up to a whole lot of damage, but provides 10.4 regen to fall back on. I do NOT prefer spider stilts, because you float in the tower restricting most end game greatswords to fly over enemy heads. Clown shoes and the Green Amulet (since you dont need vital, armor provides plenty) is my version of an "upgraded" pair of spider stilts. It provides 8 defense, 45 jump power, and 7 walkspeed. Eyes of the Sword, Ring of Power, and Bunny Ears. Bunny Ears are exclusive so you could either go Xenoculous or Yaaxil Crest instead.
While Melee is no doubt the hardest class, I prefer it above all others. You learn EVERYTHING and if you get REALLY good at it like I have, you get to take down rangers in PvP even while they have the GRL. I mean...it's possible and I've done it plenty of times before and the most expensive weapon I use is the Crypt Blade. It just takes a lot more careful of a setup and you gotta really know how to utilize action canceling and your special attacks and skill and knowledge of the opponent
Everyone: RANGED! DO RANGED! GRL! GRL!
Me: Melee is an underrated art when will it be meta
not to me, sucka!
I personally LOVE the melee class. What I try going for is dealing damage of course, but have the regen to fall on. What I personally use is Guild Knight torso and legs and a pommel's helm. It racks up somewhere over 200 melee damage and gives 10.4 regen to fall back on. The Coin Scythe is a must, as for the special (Siphon Spin) can hit several enemies because it's a spin throwing you foward, hitting each enemy twice, life stealing 30 HP per tick. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it can seriously save your life in a bunch of situations and can full heal in crowds. The Red King Greatsword does MASSIVE damage and the special allows you to deal over 700 base damage with AOE explosions per slash for 10 seconds. The Crypt Blade is also a really great choice because if you use the special close up, it hits going back and then hits going foward. This deals some intense damage and takes dragons almost down half for me with a 265 buff. If you have some regen that isn't from a pendant, don't use stilts. Combine Clown Shoes with a Green Amulet for an improved spider stilt setup, giving extra defense, jump power, and the same amount of speed. Defense and mobility are crucial with melee. Add the Ring of Power, Eyes of the Sword, and Misc of your choice (Xenoculous or Bunny Ears recommended). This is usually the setup I use, and it's enabled me to take down people with the Gnome Rocket Launcher in PvP, so I'd say it's a pretty lit setup. Hope this helped out a bit.
